After my parents’ anniversary, Nicki had to go back to Chamonix to lead another group of clients through the Haute-Route. She comes from Salt Lake every summer to guide 6-8 groups of hikers through the peaks and mountain trails connecting Chamonix to Zermatt. It takes about a week to cover that distance on foot. Considering the altitude and elevation gain it’s quite an accomplishment doing it once... And she does it 6 to 8 times back to back! When the boys are older I hope we’ll be able to do it together.
We didn’t want to see her leave, so we decided to drive to Chamonix with her and spend one last day together with Coco and the boys.
It was our first time taking the cable car up to the Aiguille du midi (considering how expensive it is, it might be the last!)

Going from 1030m to 3842m altitude in 15 minutes without pressurization is a good excuse for a lollipop! (Actually it’s not that bad).
Eventhough the glass window is sturdy, I was glad to see them hold on to the rail.
