The boys and their friends from Primary (and their cousin Auréa) played together all day. They were so excited to all be sleeping in the same "hotel" and have a magnetic key to the room.
My parents stayed in a nicer appartment so we mooched off them every night for dinner.
On Monday night we had Family Home Evening together with them, my sister Emmanuelle and her family, and one of my other nieces. We asked my Mom and Dad to tell us stories about our ancestors and about when they were kids.
Some of the favorites stories were of my Dad’s grandma who wore a cabbage on her head to stay cool in the summer, and put olive (or walnut?) oil on her skin as a moisterizer (oh the smell of rancid oil). There was also my Mom’s grandma and her garnished vocabulary and never ending list of blunt phrases.
Then we asked my Dad to tell us about the time his Dad made him drive his semi truck down the mountain alone when he was 13! Here’s how my Dad tells the story:
First he mimics how his legs were so short he could barely reach the pedals and had to drive standing up (not pictured).
Then he mimics the look of horror when he took a turn and ended up face to face with his own grandpa coming up the narrow road on his horse carriage!
Then he mimics the braking, and the giant steering to avoid his grandpa.
And last he mimics the sigh of relief.
Best acting ever!
While the adults were in the temple, the children played soccer and other games with the other children they know from Primary.

I went to the grocery store and found some froot loops (you can’t find them in France), the boys preyed on it like fearce animals. I preyed on the chocolate aisle... Ahem.
