Easter break April 2014

On school break again ! Tough life for these kids : they get 2 weeks of vacation every 6 weeks of school. If we lived anywhere else, it might be difficult to find good occupations to keep them busy, but here nothing's easier. School break is immediately synonym with family time and friends visits.

The vacation started with a visit of Tata Coco from Germany.

Hunting  the Coco
Competing for the top value spot on Coco's lap.
Followed by a visit from our good friends Nicole, Lars and Yanik from Zurich. With only English as a common language, these 4 boys had to be a little creative to communicate. It was good practice for all of them, and by the end of their 5-day stay they'd all learned a little bit of french, a little bit of german and improved a lot of their english.

Story time
We went to a new park we had recently discovered in Crolles.

And we hiked to the ice cream farm near our house. It's quite a long hike (45min uphill), but swiss kids must have it in their blood and my kids will do anything for ice cream.

4 kids devouring  raspberry sorbet like a prey : it was flying all around like pieces of fresh meat!

The hike down was a breeze after the ice cream boost, they just ran 15min straight home.
We shared some delicious meals.

Played in the village.

And made bows and arrows.

Another long hike around the house (La Tour) :

And more play time in the yard :

The good night show : Sean the sheep with the theme song repeated over and over in both german and french accents.

Beautiful green-eyed boy

Lars : the lego master

He's Shaun ze sheep, he's Shaun ze sheep... oh! life's a treat viz Shaun ze sheep...
As it turns out Revel's favorite attraction was the construction workers remodeling the garage, the boys were mesmerized.

After our friends left, the cousins arrived, and the fun started over again.

William with Dan and Evan

A make believe nap under the peach tree

And William's disturbing obsession for hair (I think of the creep in Charlie's angels everytime I see him do that, haha...) but so far his cousins seem to enjoy the special attention.

Maybe he has a future as a hairdresser. Meanwhile I was also playing with my nieces' hair, trying all the pinterest demos we could find/

And William when he's not in his cuddly/hair twisting phase :

When cousins and friends are gone, Grand-Papa and Grand-Maman take over. It's a never ending party. Josh loves to play cards with his Grand-Parents.

Sneaky Willy doesn't care so much about winning as he cares about getting all the skip cards and the draw 2  and 4 cards to tease his brother!
